What is NotAutopilot?

Retrofit Autopilot on your Model S

NotAutopilot is a Tesla openpilot fork that brings lane keeping, adaptive cruise, and driver monitoring to 2012–2014 pre-AP Model S vehicles. The Autopilot retrofit Tesla never made.

"Our goal with the Model S was to create not the best electric car, but the best car of any kind."

Elon Musk, October 2011

Your Model S
deserves better.

That still holds true. But Tesla shipped over 25,000 pre-AP Model S vehicles before driver assistance existed. No retrofit path, no upgrade option. They moved on and never looked back.

Lane centering

Keeps you in your lane with camera-based path planning tuned for pre-AP hardware.

Adaptive cruise

Follows traffic with smooth braking and acceleration. Handles stop-and-go.

Driver monitoring

Watches your attention level. Alerts if you're distracted or drowsy.

Fully open source

Every line is on GitHub. Read it, fork it, improve it, ship it.

Compatibility
